This morning we will take a tour of the beautiful co-capital. Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. An amazing destination, a vibrant city with great historical and cultural charm. In Thessaloniki, The Apostle Paul went to the synagogue for three consecutive Saturdays, where he taught about the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. The persuasiveness and power of his words were widely accepted and the Christian community of the city was born., with many believing and becoming his disciples. We will visit the old city walls, one of the most important monuments of the co-capital, with their architecture combined with the construction possibilities of the time, to make it unique. They were built in the 4th AD. century with total length 8 kilometers to form a border between the city and the sea, to be demolished in the 19th century in order to expand the city. Today we can only see a small part of them that has been saved. Then we will go to the Rotunda which owes its name to its circular shape. It was built in the 4th AD. century, as a temple of Zeus to be converted into a Christian temple in the early Christian years and to end up as a mosque during Ottoman rule. Today it is a visitable museum and is considered one of the most important Roman monuments in Greece with its excellent quality mosaics.. The rotunda was connected through a portico to the Arch of Galerius, a triumphal arch dating to the end of the 3rd AD. century and together with the White Tower, is a trademark of Thessaloniki. After touring the beautiful co-capital, we will return to the hotel. Overnight.
