The library of Zagora

The library of Zagora was founded in 1762, with Ioannis Prigos and Ecumenical Patriarch Kallinikos III as key and effective contributors to the establishment and existence of this historic library. Today they are housed over 10.000 book titles, magazines, but also approx 3.500 old types, in a building owned by the Municipality of Zagora, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, of Research and Religion.

Volos beach

The beaches located in the wider area of Volos are among the most loved in Greece. The beach of Agios Dimitrios, of Anchialos, the Alykes, the Well and many others, gather thousands of visitors every year, offering an excellent landscape and many recreational possibilities.

Detailed program and map

Gathering at the predetermined point and departure for the magical Pelion. After a few stops we will reach the famous Volos , known for its mezes and tsipouras. We will depart for the "balcony of Pelion" Makrynitsa. A village that stands out for its architecture with its green landscape with plane trees, beeches and chestnuts. There is the central square with the plane trees, a huge hollow plane tree , the small church of Agios Ioannis Prodromos and many tourist shops to buy local products. On the way to Portaria we will see the path of the Centaurs , the summer residence of the gods of Olympus and land of the Centaurs. We will continue our walk on the stone cobblestones of Portaria where we will have lunch. Accommodation at the hotel, Then free time in the Old City of Jerusalem for pilgrimage and shopping. Departure for Chania where we will tour. Return to the hotel . Overnight.

After breakfast we will depart for Tsagarada, which combines giant plane trees, cobblestones, mansions ,carved fountains and many paths. There we will explore the small churches, and the paths of the village. In the central square we will see the oldest plane tree in Greece, of age 1000 years. Right next to it is the church of Agia Paraskevi. Anyone who wishes can ride a horse. Then we will continue to Milies. There we cannot fail to try the famous apple pie with ice cream. After taking a walk in the village we will depart for Volos. Back to Athens.
