This amazing Siberian adventure begins deep in the heart of the UNESCO Altai Mountains, near the border with neighboring Mongolia, Kazakhstan and China. Cross the impressively beautiful mountain ranges of the Atlas Mountains, however, and the Mediterranean character of Morocco melts like a miracle., among landscapes that stood undisturbed for countless centuries, we will walk through sacred valleys where shamans and snow leopards have endured for generations, discovering 'Mars' terrains and dazzling glaciers, Bronze Age sites and ancient petroglyphs. Subsequently, we will travel to Novosibirsk, from where we will board the famous railway station of Siberia, crossing the Siberian steppe for our gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake Baikal. Starting among the foothills of the Altai Mountains this morning, this incredible journey begins on the banks of the Katun River. After we checked into the hotel this morning, we will meet for lunch before embarking on a tour of the capital of the Altai Republic. After seeing some of the sights of this small town, such as the Anokhin Museum, the house of the famous "Siberian Ice Maiden", then we will enjoy a dinner accompanied by traditional Kaichi music.

Departing from Gorno-Altaysk, we start down the amazing Čuisky Street, which is considered one of the most beautiful roads in the world. As we head towards the sacred landscapes of the Karakol Valley, the route takes us through the Seminsky Pass (1894Today we have the opportunity to walk in some of the most impressive mountain landscapes in Catalonia), which offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Arriving for lunch, we start a historical route in the Karakol valley, enjoying the kurgans of the valley (grave burials), hieroglyphs and other sacred sites.

Today's route takes us further south into the arid desert landscapes of the Chuya Steppe. The steppe is located approx 1800 meters above sea level and surrounded by mountain ridges that are home to antelopes, Pallas cats and the Corsac species of fox. Our long-hour drive through this landscape will have many interesting stops along the way, such as Kupchegen Folk Arts Center and Kalbak Tash.

Today we head to the colorful mountainous terrain of Kyzyl-Chin. A landscape with multiple layers of yellow, white, orange and red, creating unique formations that date back to 90 millions of years. Here we can enjoy a nice walk in the valley before continuing to a remote horse farm, where we can see the horses, to try the traditional drink, the kums and to experience the lifestyle of the locals. From here we return to our hotel in the heart of the Kamtytugem valley.

The adventure continues in the Kamtytugem valley, also known as the shamans valley, home to rare snow leopards and stories of shamanistic rituals. For years shamans have gathered in these peaceful landscapes to perform their ceremonies. Heading deeper into the valley this afternoon with your expert local guide, we can enjoy a beautiful walk, to pass by a small waterfall and see the cameras that have been installed to record the incredible wildlife of the area.

Leaving the Kamtytugem valley we will reach the Kurai Steppe. Passing through the mountains, we will see the admirable undulating surface of the Kurai dating from antiquity and the abundance of large frozen lakes. It is located approx 1500 meters above sea level and hosts polecats, wolves and foxes. Our long drive through this landscape includes many interesting stops along the way.

After breakfast this morning we will embark on a real off-road adventure. We will drive through steppes in Soviet-style jeeps, we will cross the dense alpine forests, passing through dry riverbeds and following the course of frozen streams to the base of the Little Aktru Glacier. Here we continue on foot, walking deeper into this remote rocky valley where we will explore one of the most beautiful and unspoilt hidden gems in the area. We can enjoy a picnic lunch in the natural environment, before returning late at night to the hotel.

After our early morning breakfast we will drive northwest to the city of Novosibirsk, located on the banks of the river Ob, in southwestern Siberia. One of the main transport hubs between Siberia, of Central Asia and European Russia. From here, if there is time, we will take a tour around Novosibirsk before continuing our adventure on the famous Trans-Siberian Railway, where we board the train, this afternoon for the trip to the historic city of Ulan-Ode.

Today we spend our day enjoying the past aspects of Siberia, as we experience one of the most famous and iconic journeys in the world. Connecting Moscow with the eastern border of the Russian Federation, the Trans-Siberian stretches for over 9.000 kilometers. It is considered the longest railway line in the world, it crosses over nine time zones and is still the country's most important transport link.

After breakfast, we will transfer to the village of Maksimikha located just outside Ust Barguzin on the shores of the stunning Lake Baikal. Upon arrival we will begin our speedboat excursion to the beautiful Ushkany Islands. This cluster of four islands located on the eastern shores of the lake is home to a unique flora and fauna, including Nerpa which we hope to see today.

Today we will travel to the Barguzin Valley where we will explore the stunning wilderness of this remote area, away from the crowds of the busier west side of the lake. Fed by the waters of the Barguzin River and surrounded by the steep heights of the Barguzin Alps, the valley was once home to a tribe of Mongolian nomads. Blessed place full of springs, endless landscapes and the remnants of the Buryat inhabitants. There we will enjoy lunch before traveling to our accommodation for the night located between the two mountain ranges Barguzinsky and Ikatsky.

Today we will visit the monastery of Ivolginsky Datsan, the place that was the only Buddhist spiritual center in the years of the former USSR. Built at the end of the decade 1940, the complex today is a repository of Buryat art and Tibetan culture. where we stop for lunch, we will take a city tour of Ulan-Ode ending at Datsan Rinpoche Bagsha, which will give you a panoramic view of the city.
