In the morning, explore the old quarter of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of fascinating historic buildings. Start with a scenic tour of the city's colonial center, which extends from the Central Square, where you can appreciate the majestic architecture of the Spanish Empire. Walk to the cathedral, which began in the 16th century and was needed 80 years to build. Subsequently, visit Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted the 1535 from the conquistador-in-chief Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of its leaders. This is the only house from that time that still belongs to the same family after all these centuries. Continue to the Larco Museum, located in the Pueblo Libre traditional area, and which is housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion, built on a 7th century pyramid. The museum has the most complete collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver objects, as well as works of erotic art. Free time and rest in the afternoon.
