After breakfast tour the cobbled streets, pointed towers, sloping roofs and amazing churches make up a unique medieval setting. Visit to Kantriorg Palace Park and Birgitta Promenade overlooking the Gulf of Finland. We will continue to Toompea Hill, the Estonian Parliament and the ornate Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, built during the years of the Russian Empire. From the top of the hill we will enjoy the panoramic view-plan of the city with the towers, the tiled roofs and picturesque squares Passing from the Upper to the Lower neighborhood. Even today, we will see the heavy door that was closed every night to separate the upper from the lower city, but we will also cross the narrowest street in the area, where drunkards staggered as they fell from the thread placed lengthwise. Passing the Church of the Holy Spirit and Saint Nicholas we will head to Northern Europe's only intact Gothic town hall and walk through the medieval part of the lower town, a place untouched by time. We leave Riga and head to Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania and its former temporary capital, at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers. It was created in the 13th century with the construction of the first and largest defensive castle of that time in Lithuania. Walking in the area of the castle and taking a panoramic view of the city, we find that many elements of the cultural and architectural heritage are preserved to this day. Among them are the church of Agia Gertrudis, the City Hall of the city which is also called "White Swan", but also the Cathedral. After breakfast we will visit the old town of Vilnius where we will visit the St. Stanislaus Cathedral built in the center of the city, the Gediminas tower located on a hill overlooking the Vilnius skyline and is in itself one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Next we will visit the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, a very beautiful simple baroque church with amazing decoration inside with many statues scattered throughout the church, the church of St. Anna on the right bank of the Vilnia river, a gothic style church, with two towers, which was built with 33 different kinds of bricks and painted red in baroque style. We will visit the oldest and largest university in Lithuania and one of the oldest in Europe, the Gate of Dawn with the famous Madonna, the Renaissance icon of the Virgin Mary, the famous work of art that became known as miraculous and inspired a following. Then we will visit the Republic of Užupis a neighborhood in Vilnius , popular with artists for quite some time, which has been compared to Montmartre in Paris due to its bohemian atmosphere, which in April 1997, declared itself an independent republic, with its own constitution. This will be followed by dinner at a local tavern. Next we will visit the area of Trakai which will reveal to us a city literally built on water, surrounded by more 200 lakes and 21 small islands. The year of its establishment is considered to be 1337, where it is first mentioned by the Teutonic Knights, while another important characteristic of Trakai is its multiculturalism, as apart from the Lithuanians, Russians have lived here for centuries, Tatars, Poles and Jews. The three medieval castles located in its wider area, have been associated with a multitude of legends and traditions of the region. The one located on the islet of Lake Galve is considered more important, of the 15th century. Then departure for Riga. Arrival at the airport and flight to Athens on 03:30 (+1)
