This tantalizing glimpse of Galician character, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, parts of the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail and the coastal landscapes of the hauntingly named 'Coast of Death' are some of Galicia's distinctive features . During eight days we will have the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty and fine wines of the local wineries, to taste the distinctive flavors of the region and cook our own version of the famous Empanada of Galician Galega. Staying in picturesque accommodations along the way, we enjoy the diversity of the area, also known as "terra de meigas" (land of witches), as the inhabitants from ancient times already considered it as the geological paradise of Europe.

Departing from Santiago de Compostela International Airport today,we temporarily leave the Galician capital and travel south, to the gorges of the river Sil and the heart of the Ribeira Sacra. Our destination is a beautiful 16th century Renaissance hotel where we will spend our first three nights. Upon arrival you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere before dinner.

Today we enjoy a walk through the famous Ribeira Sacra wine region, following in the footsteps of the Romans who introduced the grape to this region before 2.000 years. Crossing a part of Sil Canyon, our route, it takes us past the vineyards heading towards Os Chancis. From here we start a private boat trip along the Sil River. Σήμερα απομακρυνόμαστε από τις αγροτικές περιοχές, απόκρημνα βράχια και τις μοναδικές ακτογραμμές, κατευθυνόμαστε στη συνέχεια στην Costa de Morte (Ακτή του Θανάτου), όπου χαρακτηρίζεται και ως ένας θαλάσσιος παράδεισος με μερικά από τα καλύτερα θαλασσινά της περιοχής να βρίσκονται εκεί. Πρώτη στάση το εντυπωσιακό κάστρο του Vimianzo. Στη συνέχεια περπατάμε ακολουθόντας την κοιλάδα του ποταμού, περνώντας αρκετούς παλιούς μύλους και απομονωμένες παραλίες στο δρόμο προς το όμορφα τοποθετημένο χωριό Muxía και το παλιό ιερό του Virxen da Barca. Ολοκληρώνουμε το ταξίδι μας προς Lires οδικώς.

Στα 624 meters, το Pico Pindo είναι ένας από τους ψηλότερους παράκτιους λόφους της Γαλικίας, προσφέροντάς μας εκπληκτική θέα στον κόλπο του Finisterre και προς το μικρό νησί της Lobeira. Με την ευκαιρία για μια δροσιστική βουτιά μετά την βόλτα μας στην κορυφή, επιστρέφουμε στη συνέχεια στο ξενοδοχείο εγκαίρως για ένα μάθημα μαγειρικής αργότερα αυτό το απόγευμα.
